This unusual house was built in 1979, and some of the style of that period is reflected in the eclectic interior design. The light airy accommodation is situated over 4 half floors, although all living accomodation is on the ground floor. It's unlikely you will have seen a house with such an interesting layout.

Helpful Holidays launch Green Cottages Scheme

west barnA new green cottages scheme has been launched by West Country self-catering specialists, Helpful Holidays, aiming to encourage their home owners to think sustainably. Eleven holiday homes in the agency’s portfolio now carry their green tree symbol with more joining the initiative in the near future.

In order to qualify, each cottage is assessed by Helpful Holidays against 69 aspects which help them make a lesser impact on the environment. Particular regard is given to energy, pollution and water as well as the environmental effect on local wildlife and landscapes. Beneficial features such as solar and wind power, a natural spring or borehole water supply and electric vehicle charging points will be highly rated.
