As we appear to be getting closer to a more humane way of farming in this country, ie organic farming and the gradual phasing out intensive battery farming, I am totally dumfounded that there is a body trying to introduce massive factory farms into this country that would house thousands of animals in industrialised units without access to traditional grazing or foraging.
Plans for three large-scale pig and cattle units in England have been met with fierce resistance from campaigners who believe this retrograde step would cause extreme misery for animals who would live a completely unatural existence.
After the release of the film, Food,Inc. how anyone can even consider letting this happen in the UK is terrifying!
With the ever powerful Monsanto relentlesly inching its way into the UK bit–by-bit, breaking down the barriers with whatever means it has, it is time we made a stand before it is too late.
So far the three propsals put forward have been withdrawn, but they will be modified and re submitted. Don’t stand back and wait for this nightmare to happen.
