Enjoy an eco Lakeland pod this year, whether you are surrounded by a blanket of pristine, white snow or enjoying the sight of Cumbria’s stunning fells in glorious Spring sunshine. Award-winning campsite, The Quiet Site, located close to what is often regarded as England’s most beautiful lake, Ullswater, has quirky camping pods, made in Cumbria from local timber, which are perfect and cosy boltholes that can be personalised to produce your own delightful little den.
The pods have a carpeted floor space of 7 square metres and plenty of headroom and can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children.
The pods offer the thrill of camping without the flapping of canvas and the dampness of rain. They are insulated with lamb’s wool for those chillier nights, but have ventilation for hotter days. They come with heaters, main light and power point for charging mobiles and they even have a decking on which to sit out and drink in the landscape.
The Quiet Site’s pods are incredibly popular all year round, with occupants knowing they can enjoy the great outdoors and also relax in The Quiet Bar -probably the best bar on any campsite in the country, with a history stretching back to the 17th century.
Here, you can sup a brew made especially for the park – The Quiet Pint – share a bottle of wine, or sit in front of the roaring log fire planning to take one of the four illustrated and detailed walks from the park, which can be downloaded from its website.
The Quiet Site has an impressive set of environmental credentials for those who love the landscape, as well as each other, with solar heated shower block, recycled water that is used to flush the toilets and even reed bed technology that you can ask to see. There is local produce on sale in the shop, a wild flower meadow to stroll when flowers are in bloom and various exciting play areas, if you do bring the children with you!
Pods cost £35-£50 per pod per night and more details are at www.thequietsite.co.uk where you can book online. Alternatively, call 07768 727016.
